Objectives, History and Activities of The Korea Insurance Law Association (‘KILA’)
 
Objectives

The KILA was set up

(1) To systematize the legal research which will become theoretical support of the insurance industry and to
secure the establishment of an orderly insurance market;

(2) To suggest the way to improve the insurance law system of Korea by comparing with that of leading
countries in insurance such as U.K., U.S.A., Germany, France, Japan, etc.; and

(3) To promote the globalization of Korean insurance law as the representative of Korea in AIDA.

26 November 1990    The Insurance Law Research Group was launched
30 March 1995    Published “Insurance Law Research 1”
10 March 1998    Published “Insurance Law Research 2”
20 August 1999    Published “Insurance Law Research 3” in comme moration of the retirement of the professor Yang, Seung-Kyu
25 July 2002    Published “Insurance Law Research 4” in commemoration of the retirement of the professor Kim, Young-Sun
30 June 2003    Published “Insurance Law Research 5” in commemoration of the 70th birthday of Mr. Lee, Pil-Kyu
25 February 2005    Published “Insurance Law Research 6”
12 July 2006    Approved by the Ministry of Justice to set up the Korean Insurance Law Association (No. 2004- 75)
26 July 2006    Registration of KILA as incorporated organization was completed (Seoul Central District Court No. 004261)
The Insurance Law Research Group was disbanded for the KILA
27 October 2006    Held conference and seminar in commemoration of the foundation of the KILA
24 March 2007    Held annual conference and spring seminar of 2007
25 July 2007    Joined the AIDA as the representative of Korea
31 August 2007    Published the journal “Insurance Law Research Vol. I Book 1”
13 October 2007    Held autumn conference of 2007
30 December 2007    ublished the journal “Insurance Law Research Vol. I Book 2”
